Our Services

Individual therapy

We provide individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Our doctors are specially trained to provide cognitive-behavioral assessment and treatment and our approach to many issues is practical and solution oriented.

Consultation

We are often approached by individuals who are contemplating therapy and how to decide what approach would meet their needs. Additionally, many people have reservations about therapy and could benefit from discussing the process with a seasoned therapist. We are available to help patients determine whether one or more sessions of psychotherapy could be helpful or if a referral to another type of service provider may be indicated. We are also available to collaborate with other service providers to ensure that our patients receive comprehensive and thoughtful care. We can provide short term opportunities to help develop simple strategies for improving quality of life for patients and families including sleep, adjustment to life transitions, career changes, and many others.

School Consultation

When appropriate, we review school documents and assessments, and accompany parents to 504 and IEP meetings. In addition we provide consultation to teachers by parent request, teacher training, and staff in-services on a variety of childhood and adolescent issues that may impact functioning in the school setting.

Parent Training

Many parents benefit from a discussion of strategies for the behavioral management of their children. This process may include identifying problematic areas for intervention, developing an understanding of behavioral triggers, creating a consistent plan for parents to enact, and following behavioral improvement over time. We are flexible in our approach and parents may choose between regular appointments or occasional consultation when needed.

Behavioral and Habit Changes

We know that it is difficult to make changes in life but there are times when it can be helpful to work with a therapist to plan for and make behavioral changes. Our practitioners can help you determine any areas of your life you may wish to address and how to create a step-by-step plan to make the changes you seek. We can help you identify specific, actionable steps and create a positive plan to reach your goals. Some areas our patients have made successful changes in are improving sleep, developing an exercise routine, refining personal organization, and cultivating study and work skills.

Women’s Issues

Our practitioners are well versed in the myriad of unique health issues that women experience throughout their lives and our primary focus is to ease our patients’ adjustment to these issues.

Some of the issues our therapists are prepared to help women navigate include fertility
challenges, pre-and post-partum issues, body changes, career changes, relationship issues, menopause and aging, and grief and loss. Our goal is to help women prioritize their own well- being for the benefit of both themselves and their families.

LGBTQIA2S+ Issues

Lifespan Associates are invested in ensuring an inclusive environment for our LGBTQIA2S+ patients. We are experienced with the wide range of issues affecting the LGBTQIA2S+ community and recognize that psychological health is highly correlated with the support our patients receive. Our doctors are deeply committed to fostering open discussion and appreciation of our patients’ identities.
